The swing arm on a KTM dirt bike is what the rear wheel and shock are connected to. One bolt secures the swing arm to the frame of the bike. The size of the nut and bolt are different for every KTM dirt bike model, so a socket set will be handy. Removing the swing arm yourself will void the warranty on your KTM dirt bike, so if the bike is under warranty the best thing to do is take it to the shop to have this done.

Instructions
1) Raise the KTM dirt bike off the ground using a motorcycle lift. Remove the nut from the rear wheel using pliers. Place a push rod on the axle rod and tap it out using a hammer. Pull the rear wheel off the frame.
2) Turn the adjustment screw on the shock to the left to release the pressure. Pull the chain off the transmission sprocket to get it out of the way.
3) Remove the main nut from the swing arm pivot bolt using the ratchet set. Tap out the bolt using the push rod and the hammer. Pull the swing arm off the frame.
