Changing KTM 250 Oil

KTM dirt bikes and motorcycles are assembled in almost the same way, so changing the oil on a 250 will be the same for a 300. The only difference between them is size and the amount engine oil you use in them. The 250 models commonly use 2 1/2 quarts of engine oil to operate properly. You will need to buy the oil specific to either a two-stroke or four-stroke engine, depending on which kind engine you have.

Instructions

1)Β Remove the black oil cap from the upper side of the crank case. Place the oil drain pan under the nut on the bottom of the crank case.

2)Β Remove the drain nut on the bottom of the crank case using the ratchet and correct size socket from the ratchet set. Drain the oil from the crank case and then replace and tighten the drain nut to the bottom of the crank case.

3)Β Pour the 2 1/2 quarts of replacement engine oil into the hole where the oil cap was. Replace the cap and tighten it by hand. Start the engine to circulate the new engine oil.
