BRP has issued a recall covering several models of 2022 Ski-Doo snowmobiles equipped with E-TEC fuel injection.
The recall states: the E-TEC fuel injector hose retainer screw may loosen due to an inappropriate tightening on the assembly line and cause a fuel leak.
The leak may further cause the vehicle to release air pollutants exceeding U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards resulting in potentially failing a state or local emissions inspection.
Fire could occur in the presence of an ignition source. In some situations, this could result in serious property damages, injuries or even death.
Vehicle owners are requested not to use or ride their snowmobile until the recall is completed.
BRP is issuing recall notices to affected vehicles at this time and urge customers to schedule an appointment with their servicing dealership to have the repairs completed at no cost. Additionally, they request vehicle owners do not complete any repairs themselves and to allow the dealership to repair vehicles to specification.
The following E-TEC and E-TEC Turbo equipped models may be effected. Please consult your servicing dealer for confirmation:
- Backcountry models
- Expedition models
- Freeride
- MXZ models
- Renegade models
- Skandic models
- Summit models
